Grassroots Program Coordinator

Are you interested in working at the intersection of politics, elections, public policy, and education? Do you love to travel and meet new people? If so, the Leadership Institute's Grassroots Programs Coordinator position may be a place to continue on your career path.   We are looking for a solid conservative with a background in center-right public policy and activism knowledge.

The candidate should at least five years of demonstrable campaign and public policy experience, not including previous volunteer and internship positions.  Candidate must enjoy public speaking, networking, teaching, and approximately 50% short-term weekend travel. 

The job also involves approximately 30% of administrative duties.

Grassroots Programs Coordinator at The Leadership Institute

Summary: Responsible for coordinating all aspects of grassroots education for the nation's leading conservative training organization. A previous background in political organizing is necessary. Having prior experience in designing and delivering training materials is highly preferred. The candidate can expect approximately 40-50% short-term travel with most of the travel taking place on weekends.

Duties: The candidate is responsible for the recruitment, marketing, and organization of multiple training programs. This political skills-focused The Leadership Institute's training programs designed to educate elected officials, candidates, campaign staff, public policy organizations, and grassroots activists.

Our Grassroots Programs include a curriculum focused on teaching campaigns, activism, communications, fundraising, and get-out-the-vote tactics and strategies to center-right organizations and individuals. The candidate must possess strong public speaking skills, and high proficiency in PowerPoint is needed. The candidate will also be responsible for updating curricula, public speaking, attendee recruitment, and program logistics for both program attendees as well as adjunct faculty at workshops.

The Grassroots Programs Coordinator will routinely aid in creating, updating, and presenting the course content to participants. The candidate must possess multiple years of advanced and proven political organizing experience with a grassroots focus as well as paid political campaign experience. Several years of previous campaign experience with a demonstrated increase in responsibility is necessary. It is highly desirable that the candidate has established political networks and is also capable of developing new contacts throughout the country.

Required Skills: Individuals must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to be flexible. Prior public speaking experience is necessary and is an essential part of the coordinator position. The applicant should be comfortable teaching to both small and large size groups ranging from 20-200 people.

The Leadership Institute is seeking Field Representatives for the Fall 2021 semester.

Since 1997, The Leadership Institute has recruited and trained the best and brightest young conservative activists for its National Field Program. Leadership Institute Field Representatives are the face of the conservative movement on college campuses across the country.

If selected for the LI Field Rep program, you will travel to college campuses within your assigned region through the end of the fall semester. At each college, you will organize, train, and inspire students to promote and defend conservative ideas and values on their campus.

LI Field Reps help students start conservative student organizations or publications on campus and provide them with the skills they need to help their groups succeed.

International Programs Coordinator

The International Programs Coordinator is responsible for managing the Leadership Institute’s online and in-person educational programs training conservatives outside of the United States. Experience in the conservative movement and/or campaigns is preferred. Some travel is required.

Duties:The International Programs Coordinator manages the organizing, promotion, and management of training programs held outside of the United States and online, under the direction of the Director of International Programs. Specific responsibilities include working with faculty members, scheduling programs and faculty, promoting programs in coordination with LI’s marketing department, contacts management, working with meeting venues for in-person programs, coordinating travel, and related tasks.

The Leadership Institute’s international programs provide training in campaigns, communications, leadership, management, fundraising, and related subjects, aimed at international conservative audiences. Programs are conducted independently or in concert with other organizations.

The candidate must possess strong communications and organizational skills, and proficiency in public speaking is preferred. A high level of proficiency in PowerPoint is essential.

A significant portion of duties involves the logistics of conducting our international programs, online and in person. Approximately 30% of this position’s responsibilities are administrative. The position is based in our Arlington, VA offices.

Youth Leadership School Coordinator

The Youth Leadership School Coordinator plans, executes, and recruits for Leadership Institute’s flagship training, The Youth Leadership School (YLS), as well as smaller versions of the training known as Youth Leadership Workshops (YLW).

As the YLS Coordinator, you will solely manage and execute all logistics for assigned trainings, as well as present lectures about political technology.

You must have proven ability to effectively recruit students and speak publicly. Additionally, the YLS Coordinator must also proactively foster long lasting relationships with partner organizations to coordinate future trainings.

You are expected to work all hours needed to meet recruitment goals and to ensure all trainings in the division are professionally conducted. 60% of the job will be travel.
